HERMES LADIES BLACKS UNDER 10 OLYMPICS GAMES – RESULTS

Great fun had for our first olympics!

1.    200m sprint

Sofia Ramsay sprinted home in the lead over the longer distance, Isla was ahead at the turn but was overtaken by Aleigha and Ruby in the final straight.

2.    JAVELIN

Girls line up and try and kick as far as they can, balls are marked (girl’s name with marker pen under cone)

Jessica Duncan huge straight boot of the ball secured the Javelin victory by a fair margin, we shouldn’t have expected any less from our keeper.

3.    50m sprint

Isla Hutchison burst into action and lead race from start to finish, impressive speed over short distance. Isla was closely followed by Olly and Sofia in what was an excellent race form all the girls.

4.    Triple Jump [Oleg Jurgilevics]

chip shot to take out the furthest ball – 3 attempts, collate the points [start point 6 feet from first red]

Georgia Singer was a hop, skip and a jump ahead of the rest in the Triple Jump.

5.    Bowling [Cammy Bruce]

3 attempts, after each attempt count balls remaining on markers, put all pins back and take next shot, add the three scores together, lowest score wins. 3 strikes would be 0 points [start point 12 feet]

Isla Sim mastered the bowling, our very own KING PIN

6.    Archery [David Ramsay]

Passing accuracy (balls in circle target practice, most balls in area)

GOLD medal for winner, SILVER medal for second and BRONZE for third most points

5 balls; 25 points for centre, 10 points for inner, 5 points for outer (ball on line is higher zone)

Aleigha Martin was only player to score a perfect bullseye, excellent target shooting but was pipped on points by Ruby Webster with multiple accurate shots on the target

7.    Slalom [Craig Macklin plus Paul Carroll]

Dribble race, dribble in and out of cones and pass ball through hurdles, each gate must be completed or DQF

Sofia Ramsay jinked to victory in 22s in slalom race, over and through cones and fast around the circuit

8.    1v1 [David Littlejohn]

Both players stand touching goal, ball in middle of pitch, first goal is winner

Excellent football played throughout, Ruby Webster defeated Georgia, Sofia & Sammy on way to victory.

Georgia just missed out in a narrow final, 3 excellently taken goals edged it in a very tight match.

Isla secured the 3rd Place Playoff final versus Rosie, some brilliant football on show by all the girls.

10. Snooker [David Donald]

Snooker game, passing of coloured balls into goals from different angle, can choose any order but can only touch ball once. Time restricted: 90 seconds

Example: Score Red, Green and Pink = 10 Points

Highest score was 21, all balls potted apart from black by Olivia Donald, top potting. I stand to be corrected but to my records Naomi was the only girl who potted the black.

11. Tug of war

Due to 2 call offices two teams fought hard under difficult circumstances with just 3 heroic warriors. The teams and format were selected by AI, so apologies if anyone thought they were unbalanced.

Team 1 defeated Team 2, Team 3 and Team 4 defeated Team 3, Team 2 and was a draw between Teams 1 and 4, the girls took the strain for a decider and Heidi Macklin-Brown, Jessica Duncan, Olivia Donald and Sofia Ramsay were victorious in hard fought battle versus Aleigha, Liv, Rosie(Ruby as stand in) & Sammy.
